The Dragon Trail

Where Urban Art Meets Active Living, in the Heart of the Global District

The Dragon Trail is a new urban art and wellness initiative based in Tulsa’s Global District, one of the most multicultural neighborhoods in the city. This creative project honors the rich heritage of our AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) community while celebrating the vibrant influence of Latino culture that also shapes the area. All supported by Ascension St John.

What is The Dragon Trail?

The Dragon Trail is a community art and biking experience that takes you on a self-guided tour across 12 locations in the Global District. At each stop, you'll find one of 14 custom-designed dragon-shaped bike racks, each painted by a different local artist , turning the district into a vibrant public art gallery.

Rather than a single continuous trail, The Dragon Trail is a fun way to explore the neighborhood by biking between these locations, visiting local businesses, and collecting exclusive stickers, one at each stop, as part of a 12-piece collectible series.

The goal: explore the Global District, support local businesses, and collect all 12 unique stickers!

The Dragon Trail is more than a walking path — it's a symbol of movement, connection, and cultural pride in the heart of the Tulsa Global District. Located in East Tulsa, this community-driven project blends public art, walkability, and healthy habits to create a space that reflects the district’s rich multicultural identity. From the vibrant dragon sculpture to the colorful mural and community events that activate the space, The Dragon Trail invites residents and visitors alike to walk, explore, and feel part of something bigger. Created with the support of local artists, partners, and neighbors, this trail is just one of many efforts to uplift and celebrate East Tulsa.

Aylin

The unity of the subject and the color belonging to it no longer exist, but is sacrificed for thevision of the moment. The accuracy with which I paint a subject is not my concern, butsuccessfully capturing the overall theme and feeling is. And with expressive brush strokes, unconventional materials, and abstract features, I illustrate Mexican-American/immigrant life andstruggles. The struggles of an immigrant can be overlooked or misunderstood, but throughcareful planning and reflection I encapsulate the experiences many immigrants go through.
