Trash Can Art Project

The Global District’s Trash Can Art Project offers talented artists the opportunity to turn ordinary trash bins into works of art that reflect the cultural diversity of Tulsa Global District. Located at the intersection of E 21st St and S Garnett Rd, Tulsa Global District is one of the most multiculturally diverse parts of our city. We want this diversity to be reflected in our businesses, our art…and our trash cans!

Based on the TRASHed Coachella program (view here), this program will provide artists a stipend to paint a trash can that will be used at one of the businesses in the area. The trash cans are wheeled, 95 gallon trash cans (view here). The stipend will be $250 per trash can, max of two trash cans per artist.

The design should be culturally reflective of the area, and designs promoting specific businesses will not be allowed.
